Colorado Cold Pressed is a family owned business that produces Cold Pressed CBD Oil. Our CBD Oil is raw, cold pressed, and solvent free. Cold pressing the hemp allows for our product to keep the raw acid forms of all the cannabinoids intact. Our delicious Organic Hemp Seed Oil is cold-pressed and unrefined. Just like hemp seed, the oil contains the ideal 3:1 omega-6 to omega-3 ratio. Unlike flax, hemp has valuable Super Omega-3 (SDA) and Super Omega-6 (GLA), which can help the body metabolize fat. Cold Pressed CBD is just like any other cold pressed oil – its been delicately extracted to preserve the maximum goodness and benefits of the plant and its compounds.
Colorado Cold Pressed is a family owned and operated CBD hemp oil producer nestled in the mountains of Western Colorado. We believe in healing people and planet by sourcing local, sustainably produced hemp and minimally processing it using a gentle, cold press method, to create a true whole plant oil with unmatched integrity.
The Cold Pressed Difference
Beyond Full Spectrum.
Our cold press process uses only pressure to extract our hemp oil. This maintains the temperature of all pressed oils below the maximum temperature threshold for cold pressed oil standards. The result is an oil with the raw, acid forms of all the cannabinoids intact. Also, by pressing our CBD rich hemp biomass alongside raw hemp seeds we are able to maintain the full nutritional profile of the hemp plant in its entirety, including the highly beneficial omega 3 and 6 fatty acids found in the seed oils.
Through the use of the cold press process we are simplifying the journey from plant to consumable product to one step. This minimal approach to processing results in an oil that is as close to the way it is naturally occurring in the plant as possible. This means that ALL of the phytonutrients that the plant has to offer are intact and in their raw form. Not only does our oil contain the full range of cannabinoids (with less than .3% THC), terpenes, and flavonoids, but also maintains the plants full profile of essential fatty acids, polyphenols, enzymes, micronutrients, and chlorophyll.
Many extraction methods use heavy industrial solvents and highly unnatural processes to obtain the cannabinoids from hemp plants. These extraction methods can leave chemical residues in the resulting concentrates, and can also lead to the degradation and even exclusion of some of the phytonutrients offered by the hemp plant. Not only do we not use solvents in our process but the only ingredients that are used in our method are raw organic hemp leaves, flowers and seeds, and sunflower seeds.

frequently asked questions

CBD and hemp seed oil are made from different parts of the plant. Nutiva’s Organic Hemp Seed Oil is cold expeller pressed from whole, raw hemp seed. CBD oil is a floral hemp extract that’s made from the leaves and flowers. Hemp Seed oil and hemp foods are not a source of CBD.
Can I use Nutiva Organic Hemp Seed Oil for sauteing and baking?
Using our Organic Hemp Seed Oil as a cooking oil will not preserve the essential fatty acids (EFAs). It has a low smoke point and may hydrogenate at high temperatures.
How much Omega-6 and Omega-3 is in Nutiva Organic Hemp Seed Oil?
In one serving of our Organic Hemp Seed Oil there are 7.5g of Omega-6 LA, 2.5g of Omega-3 ALA, 2.0g Omega-9, 500mg Omega 6-GLA and 250mg Omega-3 SDA.
Why You Should Be Using Cold Pressed CBD Oil
You may have heard of cold pressing before, when you take a trip to the supermarket and shop for Olive Oil or similar cooking oils. But have you ever heard of Cold Pressed CBD oil?
Cold pressing is a common practice with products that contain delicate ingredients that can be damaged easily, reducing their health benefits. In some cases, harsh extraction methods can even render some healthful ingredients into harmful ones, such as with seed oils.
Extraction methods matter, and result in a different end product. Cold pressing is widely recognised to closely preserve the original composition of compounds found in the plants that they are derived. When it comes to Cold Pressing CBD, it means the unique balance of cannabinoids, terpenes, flavinoids and other phytochemicals found in the plant remain in a similar balance as they would exist in the original plant.
For this reason, you could say that cold pressed CBD is of the most ‘natural’ extracts possible.

Cold pressing is a mechanical process, that simply leverages force to ‘press’ the natural oils from Hemp flowers. The oils that are extracted include the cannabinoids like CBD, CBG and CBD, and terpenes such as Limonene, Pinene and Myrcene. One of the reasons cold pressing isn’t widely used for CBD extraction is because it is a more gentle process, which means some CBD remains within the original plant material. It doesn’t make for an efficient extraction for people looking to maximise profit, but its great if you don’t mind that and just want the best extract available : )
Other methods of extraction are highly effective at extracting the maximum amount of compounds from the plant, but have to rely on more aggressive means in order to do so. Some still result in a decent end product, but there is often a trade off as this may disrupt the balance of cannabinoids, terpenes and other delicate compounds. This means that the extract is less ‘natural’ and may alter the unique effects that occur when Hemp compounds interact and synergise, which is known as the entourage effect.
In short, the entourage effect refers to Hemp compounds working as a team to produce an effect that is more potent than would occur if the compounds were working alone.
We will be sharing loads more on Cold Pressed Hemp, and its many benefits. We’ll also be re-introducing our capsules very soon exclusively with Cold Pressed CBD, which is also rich in other Cold Pressed Cannabinoids and Terpenes.
