SEEDS-Blacksburg Nature Center

Price House, 107 Wharton St. SE. Parking in our driveway, on Wharton St., and within 2 short blocks on Clay St. @ spout spring parking strip & Church St. in the public parking lot. Admission is free; donations are welcome. Fun for all ages.

Tuesdays 9am – 12pm
Thursdays 2pm – 5pm
Fridays 9:30am – 11:30am
Saturdays: 9am – 1pm

What’s going on on Saturday 20th around town!

The Virginia Tech Department of Entomology will host Hokie Bugfest – a festival to promote the fun and excitement of the science of entomology.A free event, the 2012 Bugfest will be held at The Inn at Virginia Tech.

At the nature center: Saturday, October 20th, 9am-1pm:
Getting in tune with Autumn.
Our Volunteers from VT Biological Sciences, VT College of Natural Resources and Environment, VT Biological Systems Engineering, and VT Service Learners will be on hand to help you play and learn about hibernation, fall migration, color changes, and other autumnal changes using our exhibits, the grounds, and our story book library.
Home football game vs. Duke starts at 12:29pm, so come on over and enjoy!

Also to do on Saturdays within a few minute walk…
8am-2pm. Visit the Blacksburg Farmer’s market. There’s lots to see and do at the Market Square Park.

Also…U.S. Forest Service Eastern Divide Ranger District. Wednesday morning programs at the Forest Service Office, Pandapas Pond and Glen Alton in Giles County. Contact the forest service (540) 552-4641 for more information about their programs.
